Deion Sanders and Colorado went into the halftime locker room down 34-14 to USC. The head coach said his team gave USC way too many chances and opportunities, putting themselves in a 20-point hole.

Shedeur Sanders scored on a 25-yard touchdown run to get Colorado’s second score on the board. The Buffaloes are set to receive the second half kickoff.

Deion Sanders explained what his team had to do to get back into the game beginning with the third quarter.

“We gotta have balance,” Sanders told FOX sideline reporter Jenny Taft. “It was great to score right before the half. We got to run the ball and throw the ball effectively. First and second downs are vital to us. We got to stop blowing coverages, have given up some big plays.

“We’re helping them but they’re a great team. Caleb Williams is playing wonderfully but we’re helping them for what they’re capable of doing.”

Coach Prime wasn’t kidding. Williams played fantastic in the first half, going 17-of-20 passing for 260 yards and four touchdowns.

Deion Sanders sends message to doubters ahead of USC game

Sanders responded to those who want to see him fail ahead of kicking off against the Trojans.

“Well first of all, I don’t know how you can pray for someone’s downfall,” Sanders said on Big Noon Kickoff. “We’re gonna be consistent. We’re gonna do what we do but we in this thing for the long haul. It’s not a sprint. This is a marathon.

“And I promise you what I’m saying and I looked in the camera and I made eye contact when I said you got to get me now. I’m not playing, I’m not lying because I know what we have on tap. I know the kind of recruits we’re bringing in here. I know the understanding, the philosophies and expertise of the coaching staff. I know what is going to be. It’s going to be that sooner than later.”
