Deion Sanders on 5-star OT Jordan Seaton: 'He's a pro physically and mentally right now'
Deion Sanders and Colorado earned one of their biggest recruiting wins with Jordan Seaton signing on the dotted line.
The five-star offensive tackle, No. 1 at his position, officially put pen to ink Friday after delaying earlier in the week. But Colorado, which signed a small high school class while attacking the portal, got the biggest (literally) name available.
Sanders joined the Stephen A Smith Show and described what Colorado fans can expect from Seaton right away.
“I call him ‘Big Time,’” Sanders said. “This is his new nickname, he ‘Big Time.’ He knows how to articulate himself. He knows what he wants, but he’s willing to work to go get it and he challenged his guys all day long. He would get on the phone and call another lineman: ‘Hey man, you coming or not? Because we ain’t got time for that. What you gonna do? Are you? Coach, he just trying to get a bag, we don’t want him …’
“That’s how he approaches things. This kid practices his butt off … But he’s a man, man … This kid is a pro mentally and physically right now. He just has to put it on grass. I love everything about this kid and who he’s going to become. I promise you this kid is gonna be a first rounder if not a top five pick.”

As a member of the Class of 2024, Seaton was a five-star recruit out of Washington D.C. but played his HS football at IMG Academy (Fla.), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 4 overall prospect in the state, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 9 overall prospect in the class.
“Polished offensive tackle who is one of the more battle-tested prospects at the position in the 2024 cycle,” Seaton’s On3 scouting report reads in part. “Measured at over 6-foot-5, 295 pounds prior to his senior season. Has a big frame and plus length for the position with arm length over 34 inches and a verified 10.75-inch hand. Dropped considerable weight as a junior after previously weighing over 330 pounds.
“Technically sound and well-rounded from a skill perspective. Looks ahead of the curve in pass protection. Flashes good reactive quickness. Understands pass rush plans and works to neutralize rushers. Uses his redirect skills to mirror and quick, strong hands to neutralize at the point of attack. Drops his weight and anchors on contact.”
With a tackle like that, there’s surely to be more protection for Sanders’ offense and Seaton fits the bill to a ‘T.’
