Deion Sanders didn’t seem overly worried about Colorado’s 10-0 deficit to Kansas after the first quarter Saturday evening.

The Buffaloes, who control their destiny to the Big 12 Championship, trailed to an underdog on the road. Seemingly, nothing was in sync.

Still, Sanders knows his team is capable of getting it together.

“That’s not a challenge. We practice and rehearse for this,” Sanders said on the FOX broadcast. “We just got to make the plays. We know what they’re doing. They’re calling out every play on the sidelines. We just got to make the plays, we didn’t come to play right in the first quarter, obviously we got to turn it on.”

The offense had no points in the first quarter, but Sanders echoed his sentiment, saying Colorado will get right.

“It’s important but it’s not end all (be all),” Sanders said. “We got time. Trust me.”

After Sanders’ in between quarters interview, Colorado’s offense turned the ball over on downs. Kansas would go on to score on ensuing drive to take a 17-0 lead.

But after Sanders challenged his team on the sideline, the Buffaloes promptly responded with a Travis Hunter touchdown, who caught and ran a 51-yard pass from Shedeur Sanders.

With 7:18 to go in the half, Colorado trailed 17-7.

There was a lot of conversation about Coach Prime in the last week after Colorado improved to 8-2 on the season. That talk included Sanders to the Cowboys next season, as their head coach.

Despite those rumors, when Sanders addressed his future at Colorado, he made sure to emphasize that he’s happy in Boulder.

“You don’t talk like that with my A.D. in here,” Deion Sanders said. “That’s so disrespectful. You’re going to talk about me going somewhere with my A.D. in here? They mentioned us with a lot of other stuff, too, before we started winning, didn’t they? That wasn’t fair, was it? Price. There’s a price of everything …

“I am happy where I am, man. I’m good. I got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is? A lot of people in here at an age they don’t know what a kickstand is. That means I’m resting, I’m good, I’m happy. I’m excited, I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do. Next question.”
