Deion Sanders sees himself in all three of his sons

The personality of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has been known to the nation for decades. But for those who are just introduced to his kids, they might find themselves seeing parts of Deion in them.

That’s not surprising, and Sanders said as much on on ESPN’s First Take when he noted he sees parts of himself in all of his sons.

“Different aspects,” Sanders said. “All my sons have different intangibles. Shilo’s me to a certain level. Junior’s me to a certain level and Shedeur is that. Shedeur may be more of me because he’s spent the most time with me. He’s always lived with me. He’s always been there with me. All my kids, I’ve coached all the way up but I’m the only coach he’s ever known. He hadn’t known another coach. So me being out in Jackson when I went through situations with my foot and having surgery, missing four games, that was the first time in his life that he ever played a game without me, and that was tremendous for him.”

Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders are both stars on the Buffaloes while Deion Sanders Jr. runs social media around the team, helping draw eyeballs to the program through new avenues.

Shilo Sanders is the team’s leading tackler on defense with 15 stops through two games from the safety position. Shedeur Sanders has been the star quarterback with 903 passing yards and six touchdowns with zero interceptions. He is even starting to get some Heisman buzz but of his performances and the early success of the team.

Earlier in the week, Sanders released the latest edition of his children rankings, which has has done off-and-on for a few years. Deion Sanders Jr. ranked first, Shedeur was in third and Shilo was in fifth.

Shedeur talked earlier on First Take about how he doesn’t feel much pressure playing for his father because he has been doing it for so long.

“I don’t really think it’s too much pressure because it’s always been the expectation year after year,” Sanders said. “Just being his son, just being the quarterback (in) high school, college, it just led me to this moment to where now everybody here is able to see us shine. So that’s what it is. It’s no pressure. It’s just like year after year after year, it’s the same thing, just now at a different magnitude.”
