Deion Sanders sends message to Colorado fans amid job speculation
Rumors about Deion Sanders and his future with Colorado have heated up in recent weeks. Both Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will be out of the program after this season. The assumption was Coach Prime would leave along with them, searching for a different job.
To quiet all the talks, Sanders sent a message out to Colorado fans. Although he feels like his standpoint has been a consistent one, the instance of wanting to stay in Boulder once again came from Sanders. No plans of leaving appear to be in his mind.
“I’m good,” Sanders said. “I’m comfortable where I am. I mean, I don’t know how many times I can say it, I can only speak one language. I wish I spoke several languages so they would understand it more candidly. But I am happy and content with where I am.”
Sanders took over the Colorado program ahead of the 2023 season and instantly became one of the most discussed teams in college football. Success was tough to find initially but the Buffaloes are now in contention to win the Big 12. Two more wins will send them to Arlington, with a potential spot in the College Football Playoff on the line.
People, such as Michael Irvin, have been campaigning for Sanders to take the Dallas Cowboys job this offseason. Jerry Jones was asked, in a general sense, about Sanders as a coach, providing a glaring review. But Jones did admit it’s too early to think a jump to the NFL will take place.

“I think we’re way ahead of ourselves relative to when and if he decides to go into coaching in the NFL,” Jones said.
Outside of his words, actions have been a positive sign toward Sanders staying. Colorado gained a commitment from Julian Lewis on Thursday, the No. 6 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class per the On3 Industry Rankings. Lewis was previously committed to Lincoln Riley and USC, also being heavily recruited by Curt Cignetti at Indiana.
Sanders has certainly begun to build something with the Buffaloes and plans to continue on the journey.
