The roster turnaround of Colorado under Deion Sanders is well documented. He hit the NCAA transfer portal hard, basically hitting the reset button in Boulder. Even with some talent taking the field, nobody truly expected them to step onto the field on Saturday and get a win against TCU.

Following Saturday’s upset in Fort Worth, Reese’s Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy took to Twitter to explain how incredible of a job Sanders has done. He revealed Senior Bowl scouts were not even allowed to watch Colorado last season, they were that bad. The 1-11 record speaks for itself but from an NFL perspective, just one Buffs player has been picked in the last three drafts.

While this might seem to be a shot at Colorado, Nagy told On3’s Andy Staples it’s the opposite. Nagy is praising the job Sanders has done since taking over the program. Results are incredible after just one game too.

“That was really the point of the post, to highlight what they have done there,” Nagy said during Monday’s episode of Andy Staples On3. “To flip that thing entirely… You can’t say enough about what Deion has done there with all those players. It’s incredible.”

Nagy also took a look at the TCU team, saying there is still plenty of talent on the roster. Yes, the Horned Frogs lost a ton of talent after making the national championship last season. Sonny Dykes has former offensive and defensive players who are now preparing for the NFL regular season.

Even so, there is still plenty of talent in Cow Town. Colorado did not face off against a depleted roster and earn a fluke victory. Nagy believes a ton of TCU players will still hear their name called at the NFL Draft at some point

“I also want to mention what TCU has because some people might think from the outside looking in — that’s a team devoid of talent, all these guys went to the National Football League last year,” Nagy said. “Maybe people thought they weren’t the same team, all those guys left. Well, I was there a couple of weeks ago and they got a bunch of NFL guys on that team.”

We will get plenty of other opportunities to see Colorado players perform against NFL-caliber players. The Pac-12 is as deep as ever, with Oregon, USC, and Utah all on the Buffaloes’ schedule. A few more chances to appreciate Colorado’s turnaround could be on the docket.
