Deion Sanders: 'We're gonna go take what's ours' vs. Utah
Colorado looks to continue its march toward the Big 12 Championship game but will have to get past Utah to do so.
Ahead of kickoff, Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders explained the mission for Colorado in Week 12.
“Let’s take what’s ours,” Sanders told FOX’s Jenny Taft on the sideline moments before kickoff. “We ain’t got time to be waiting on you to give us nothing. We’re gonna go take what’s ours today.”
Colorado had to overcome adversity from the start of Saturday’s game, however. The Buffaloes’ first play from scrimmage resulted in an interception thrown by Coach Prime’s son, Shedeur Sanders. The defense held strong on the ensuing possession and held the Utes to a field goal.
Sanders responded swiftly, throwing a 40-yard touchdown pass to wideout Will Sheppard during their next time out on the field. The score was made possible as a Utah defender jumped the snap, causing a free play for the Buffaloes as Sheppard was able to come down with the 50-50 ball.

Colorado opened it up further in the first quarter, LaJohntay Wester scored on an emphatic punt return touchdown. Untouched, Wester sped past the Utah punting unit for a 76-yard touchdown run. Wester also had three catches for 24 yards during during first four Colorado possessions.
The fun continued for the Buffaloes as the quarter neared its end. Heisman Trophy favorite Travis Hunter hauled in a tipped pass for his third interception of the season to set up the Colorado offense in a great position to score a third touchdown in four possessions. However, the Buffaloes were unable to do so.
Fans can watch the remainder of Colorado’s home matchup against the Utes live on FOX with Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt on the call.
A victory would improve Colorado to 8-2 on the season as the Buffaloes continue their march toward a potential Big 12 Championship berth. Meanwhile, a four-win Utah team is still looking to become bowl eligble before the end of the regular season.
