Deion Sanders and Colorado haven’t been able to keep the momentum they built on the field through the first month of the season, but the Buffaloes are still making waves on the recruiting trail.

Colorado hosted Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County four-star quarterback Antwann Hill for his first visit to Boulder last weekend. The Buffaloes fell to Stanford 46-43, but the defeat was the only negative the rising 2025 signal-caller took from his trip.

“That visit was all love. From the coaching staff, to the players, I mean all love all over the place at Colorado,” Hill said in an interview with On3’s Josh Newberg. “Great atmosphere, great scenery, first of all. Mountains in the background of the stadium … the only bad thing about that trip basically was they lost, that’s it.”

Colorado offered Hill back in August and have kept communication with the 6-foot-4.5, 205-pounder since. Offensive coordinator Sean Lewis has helped lead the way, but Hill got to spend some time with Sanders and hear Coach Prime’s elevator pitch in-person over the weekend.

“He wants me to come in and take over when Shedeur (Sanders) leaves, really just having that deep conversation about if I want to come here what would happen,” Hill said. “Then just getting to know his situation, I asked him will he still be there when I get there, he said he won’t leave, so I mean he’s just trying to build his own thing, get that program rolling.”

While the Buffaloes’ have lost some steam since starting the season 3-0, Hill remained impressed by the fans that showed out to Folsom Field on a Friday night in October. Simply put, Colorado made a positive impression.

“I could see myself playing there,” Hill said. “Great fans, for one thing, I wasn’t expecting none of that when I came to the stadium, them chanting my name and stuff. Great fan base, great coaching staff, I can relate to those people. I can see myself playing there, but we’re just gonna see.”

Other major programs are in the mix for Hill

Alongside Colorado, Hill mentioned Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Penn State as other programs that are currently standing out. The Crimson Tide, Gators and Seminoles have each had Hill on campus multiple times throughout his recruitment.

Hill isn’t naming a leader as of now, but he is getting closer to making a commitment, pointing toward the December-January timeframe as a potential window for him to pull the trigger on a decision. His main focus now is to finish his junior season strong before he makes more important visits.

As far as what Hill is looking for out of a college program, he’s hoping to find a fit off the field just as much, if not more than on the field. Having a chance to show off his skills as a QB wouldn’t hurt, either.

“College that’s gonna love me, coaching staff that’s gonna love me off the field more than they do on the field and care about me as a young man, care about my personal life a little bit,” Hill said. “Then a scheme that I know, that the NFL scouts like to see…show off my talent, stay in plays, roll out, make throws on the run, really just be a playmaker and be a point guard out there on the field and just distribute the ball to all my playmakers.”

Hill is the No. 83 overall player in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 QB and No. 12 player in the Peach State.
