Former FIU offensive lineman Phillip Houston commits to Colorado

Former FIU interior offensive lineman Phillip Houston has committed to Colorado, he announced Thursday via his Twitter page.

He spent the last two seasons down in Miami with the Panthers, where he played rotationally in 2022 before taking on a larger role in 2023. Prior to his time at Florida International, Houston played high school football at McKinney (Tx.) Boyd, where he was an unranked recruit out of the 2021 class.

Initially, out of high school, Houston caught on with Navarro junior college, where he spent just one season and appeared in seven games, but showcased enough to earn an FBS roster spot with FIU. Now, he’ll head to Boulder, Colorado, for his next stop to help beef up an O-line that struggled mightily throughout the season, especially when it came to protecting QB Shedeur Sanders.
