Former Texas A&M Akinola Ogunbiyi signs with Colorado
Former Texas A&M Akinola Ogunbiyi committed to Colorado out of the NCAA transfer portal and signed with the program. He spent the last five seasons with the Aggies.
Ogunbiyi appeared in only three games this season in College Station. That brought his total of 23 over the past five years, including eight starts.
Ogunbiyi primarily played left guard during his time with Texas A&M. All of his starts came during second and third years with the team as he seemed to take a step back on the depth chart over the past two.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Ogunbiyi was a four-star recruit out of Sugar Land (Texas) Kempner, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 32 overall prospect in the state, the No. 7 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 220 overall prospect in the class.

Akinola Ogunbiyi signs with Colorado
Ogunbiyi comes into Boulder as a veteran offensive lineman, giving the Buffaloes’ depth going into the 2025 season.
While someone like Deion Sanders has used the transfer portal ad nauseum, he actually called out those who tamper before players actually enter the portal.

“I saw something the other day about some quarterback, was it the Texas guy? They said he had an offer for $4 or 5 million,” Deion Sanders said. “How you get an offer when you’re not in the portal? How does that work?
“Because we don’t do that. Like, how does that work? How you get an offer when you’re not in the portal? So who does that?”
Sanders added that he always offers advice to Buffaloes players who approach him about entering the portal.
“Sometimes these young men are just confused and they’re hearing all the outside noise and they think that that’s the best thing for them,” Deion Sanders said. “And I always tell them, I don’t recommend you jumping into the portal unless you know you’re probably going to have a home.”
