Jordan Seaton tabbed a Day 1 starter for Colorado after commitment
Recruits across the country consistently say they are going to shock the world with their commitment. Well, 2024 Five-Star Plus+ OT Jordan Seaton genuinely shocked a ton of people, choosing to play for Deion Sanders and Colorado over multiple blue-blood programs. It was a huge win for the Buffaloes, instantly fixing the team’s biggest position of need.
Before the season even ended, Sanders knew he needed some better bodies up front. Shedeur Sanders was taking a beating and even wound up fracturing his back. The offensive line play was atrocious for Colorado.
On3’s Charles Powers believes Seaton is somebody who can come in and play right away at left tackle for Colorado. Not too many offensive linemen can translate to the college game quickly. Seaton is different and ahead of his peers in that aspect.
“I think he’s a Day One starter at Colorado,” Powers said during Thursday’s episode of Andy Staples On3. “When you look at the offensive tackles in the 2024 cycle, I think he’s pretty clearly the most ready to play. A guy with a really high floor. He’s very technical. He’s played a high level of football, really dating back to his sophomore in high school. Faced a lot of top pass rushers.”
Colorado will open their 2024 season on Aug. 31 against North Dakota State. In Powers’ eyes, Seaton will be there protecting Sanders. Yes, part of the reason is because of how weak the Buffaloes are on the offensive line. But Powers would be saying the same thing if Seaton committed elsewhere.

Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, and Tennessee were all chasing after Seaton’s commitment. Had he chosen any of them, the talent is thought to still be there to get into the starting group.
“I’ve felt like he’s the most ready to play,” Powers said. “A guy who you could drop into the SEC or any Power Five conference and be in a better position to play as a true freshman than the rest of the 2024 tackles. When you project him to Colorado, I would expect nothing less than to start their first game.”
Seaton played high school football at IMG Academy, where he was a Five-Star Plus+ prospect, but is originally from Washington DC. He was the No. 12 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
