Deion Sanders could reportedly add NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk to his Colorado staff, according to Brian Howell.

According to the report, Faulk is the top candidate to become Colorado’s running backs coach. This report comes amid speculation and other reports linking Sanders to the Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching vacancy.

Faulk would replace Gary Harrell, who is no longer with the program.

Sanders and Faulk were part of the same NFL Hall of Fame Class in 2011, which also includes current Colorado staffer Warren Sapp.

Sanders and Faulk worked together on NFL Network from 2006-17, so there’s certainly on and off the field chemistry and familiarity between the pair.

Faulk finished his Hall of Fame career with 12,279 yards, 100 touchdowns, 4.3 yards per carry, 767 receptions, 6,875 receiving yards and 36 touchdown receptions.

He played for the Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Rams in his career, winning Super Bowl XXXIV with the Rams during the 1999 season.

Deion Sanders adding Marshall Faulk to staff?

Deion Sanders has taken to social media to reveal his 2025 mindset amid rumors surrounding his coaching future, with the Dallas Cowboys seemingly taking an interest in the Colorado Buffaloes leader.

If he hires Faulk to the Colorado staff, he’ll almost certainly be back in 2025, rather than go to the NFL.

“So what! That should be your attitude in 2025 ‘SO WHAT’! They gon talk about u, lie on u, Hate on u, Underestimate u, Count u out, Steal from u, Use u to come up & Sit right in yo face all the while. ‘SO WHAT’! What God has for u is still for u! They can’t stop God!” Sanders posted on X.

Speculation surrounding Sanders and the Cowboys’ head coaching vacancy has hit a boiling point in recent days. This comes after news that Jones and Sanders have had preliminary discussions about the position in the days since parting ways with now-former Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy.

“To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing,” Deion Sanders told ESPN on Monday night, via ESPN insider Adam Schefter. “I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.”

Sanders, 57, has been linked with the Cowboys job given his longstanding ties to Dallas. Sanders played five seasons with the Cowboys (1995-99) and was one of the biggest stars on Dallas’ last Super Bowl-winning team in 1995.
