The Colorado Buffaloes moved to 2-0 on Saturday with a win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The win, which came with a dominant defensive performance, has gotten the attention of a lot of people, including Paul Finebaum.

During an appearance on SportsCenter, Finebaum explained that this win for Colorado was head coach Deion Sanders’ clarion call to the rest of the country.

“Can I beg the mercy of the court to forget everything I said up until now?” Paul Finebaum joked. “I realize Nebraska is not a Florida State or an Alabama or a Texas or even a Georgia, but they’re still a respectable team, although, you can’t ever tell at the end of the games. But, what Colorado did yesterday, to me, sent a clarion call out to the country that this is not a fluke.”

Finebaum continued to praise Colorado, comparing them favorably to last year’s TCU team. However, he did warn that the schedule is only going to get tougher from here.

“And in many ways, they’re starting to remind me of a school last year that went all the way to the national championship, and that is TCU,” Finebaum said.

“The problems start in a few weeks. Colorado State is very manageable but what about at Oregon? That’s one of the most difficult places in the country. Then, you talk about star power, Tinseltown is gonna up in lights when Caleb Williams and Lincoln Riley and half of the world show up in Boulder in a few weeks.”

This week, Colorado will play another rival — Colorado State. According to FanDuel, Colorado opened as a big 20.5-point favorite. The over/under for the game is set at 57.5.

Deion Sanders reacted to Colorado fans storming the field

After beating Nebraska, Colorado fans charged the field. Some people were a little confused by this, as Nebraska has struggled in recent seasons and is in a rebuild. At the same time, for fans of a team coming off a 1-11 season, it makes sense given the emotional journey this season has already been.

After the game, Sanders explained his thoughts during the field storming.

“I’ve seen a club stormed one time,” Sanders joked. “I’ve never been on the field when it stormed. There was a lot of storms in the hood where I grew up at. Naw, but that was phenomenal. I didn’t really get a chance to see it because the security team was trying to get me out of there.”
