Paul Finebaum explains why Colorado State win was Deion Sanders' most impressive yet
Colorado and head coach Deion Sanders walked off Folsom Field victorious late Saturday night with a 43-35 double overtime victory over Colorado State. The rivalry win moved the Buffaloes to 3-0, and ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum believes it to be the most impressive win of the season so far.
He discussed why on a Sunday morning edition of SportsCenter.
“In many ways, I thought it was Deion’s most impressive win yet in his three at Colorado because they had so many distractions leading in,” Finebaum said. “When you bring in all the pregame shows, you bring Lil Wayne, you bring the Rock — I mean, I thought I saw Taylor Swift there but I could have misread that with sunglasses on — it was insane, and they were still able to play. They were playing an inferior team but they were resilient. They came from behind. They made so many critical plays in big moments. I think this will help them as they move forward. The only problem with moving forward…they play the two toughest games of the schedule up next.”
Those two games are at Oregon next weekend and at home versus USC the following weekend. The Ducks and Trojans are considered two of the best teams in the conference and each currently sports an undefeated record.
The Buffaloes will likely have to play those games without superstar two-way player Travis Hunter. The sophomore left the game Saturday night after a late hit from Henry Blackburn in the first half after a unconnected deep ball.
Hunter returned to the game after the hit for a flash and then left again to not return. He ended up in the hospital.

Sanders told the media after the game the expectation is Hunter will be out for at least a few weeks.
“I think coach Ray is going to the hospital to check him out,” Sanders said postgame. “First thing I heard is that he would be out for a few weeks. I heard that for sure.
“But we’re gonna do what we gotta do to take care of him. So I know Travis like a book. He probably is gonna want to be out for two weeks, but we got to make sure his health is more important than this game.”
His loss is a difficult blow for Colorado to sustain as Hunter is one of the team’s key pieces on both offense and defense.
