It was one game at the Power Five level, but Shedeur Sanders continued to prove why he is one of the better quarterbacks in college football.

In fact, Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt can see Sanders being a top 10 pick in the NFL Draft after host Colin Cowherd posed the question. Don’t forget, Sanders already set the school’s all-time single game passing record, so it’s not far fetched to see his stock soar with consistent play.

Klatt broke down what he saw from Sanders and what he could be at the NFL level.

“But if he, to your original point, let’s just say like this, if Shedeur continues to play at this level, he’s absolutely in the conversation in the top 10 of the NFL Draft, Klatt said on The Herd. “The fourth down which you just saw, if you’re watching (on television), the fourth down, game’s on the line.

“It is fourth and three, and he gets a blitz in his face and he back pedals and basically throws a fade away that if it’s behind the wide receiver or running back in this case by a yard, it’s stopped. Because the linebacker is going to catch up and tackle them and he fades away and throws it perfectly on the outside.”

There’s no question Sanders wants to be the best. In a Pac-12 conference, this year anyway, with top quarterbacks like Caleb Williams, Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr., Sanders might need more attention on him for his play.

So, when asked if he is the best quarterback in college football, Sanders let it be known that he believes he is. However, he also explained his reasoning on why he feels he is the top dog at the position in college football.

“That’s a biased question. Of course, I think I’m the best,” Sanders said laughing. “I think that the majority of quarterbacks that are competing (and are) competitive, are going to think that. So, that’s just for everybody to decide. But of course, personally, I feel like that.”

Sanders finished his first start with Colorado, the upset win over TCU, 38-of-47 passing for 510 yards and four touchdowns.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Sanders was a three-star recruit out of Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian School when he committed to Jackson State, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 60 overall prospect in the state, the No. 33 quarterback in the class and the No. 411 overall prospect in the class.
