Shedeur Sanders injury update: ESPN broadcast gives latest on Colorado QB
The Colorado Buffaloes‘ offensive attack was rolling on national television on Saturday night, as they defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Buffaloes defeated Cincinnati 34-23, but they suffered a scare when star quarterback Shedeur Sanders had to receive treatment from their medical staff on the sidelines. He walked down the sidelines to get treatment on his left hip, according to Quint Kessenich, the ESPN sideline reporter who relayed the information on the broadcast.
“Looks like they’re treating his left hip. Like a left hip flexor injury type injury. Shedeur came over, hopped on the bike, biked for a bit, stood up, jumped around. Went through his drops. And the rotations. Rotate and throw the football. So, it doesn’t look to be a serious injury,” Kessenich explained.
He never left the field in the Cincinnati game, completing 25 of his 30 passes for 323 passing yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and zero interceptions.
In Colorado’s 34-7 beatdown of Arizona, he completed 69.7% of his passes for 250 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and two interceptions.

In his team’s close loss to Kansas State, Sanders continued to put up impressive numbers for Colorado. He threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns to lead the charge in the 21-28 defeat.
Sanders entered Week 9 ranked No. 6 in the nation with 324.0 passing yards per game and is making a strong case as one of the top players in the NFL Draft. His accuracy is a big reason why there’s so much buzz about his game considering he’s completing 72.2% of his passes this year.
Chris Klieman thinks Shedeur Sanders will be the top QB selected
Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman gave Shedeur Sanders plenty of praise before the Wildcats faced Colorado.
“There’s a lot of concerns that we have” Klieman said. “Obviously go to the offensive side. And I think Sanders will be the first quarterback picked off the board. He should be. In the film that I’ve seen of a lot of the top guys, I think he’s an excellent thrower. You can’t really confuse him. I’ve seen a lot of different teams try to manipulate coverage in disguise, and he does a really good job pre snap to post snap, and he can make all the throws, and has a lot of guys to throw the football to.”
