Shedeur Sanders shares emotions after another close loss
Colorado has been within a possession in four of their six losses over the past seven games. That tells QB Shedeur Sanders that the team is right there within reach of being in position to win more than they have as of late.
Sanders discussed his emotions after suffering yet another close defeat, a three-point loss to Arizona last weekend, following the game. He said the only difference that they can make now is to take notes, improve, and be better come winning time if they find themselves in another tight contest.
“Really just go back and watch the film and see what we could have done better,” said Sanders. “That’s it.”
Sanders kept it brief but, really, it’s that simple for the Buffaloes.
Colorado’s 36-point loss at Oregon is the only one that truly got out of hand. Beyond that, the other five have come by an average margin of defeat of less than a touchdown at 6.4 points.
Against USC and Oregon State, the Buffaloes were unable to come back from significant early deficits. After going down 34-7 to the Trojans and 20-3 to the Beavers, they were close but got no cigar after bringing themselves within a touchdown in the final scores for both.
Then, against Stanford, UCLA, and Arizona, Colorado gave up varying leads to all of them. The double-overtime loss to the Cardinals was the most notable considering they started up 29-0. However, they gave up to fourth quarter touchdowns to the Bruins and lost the final quarter 10-0 against the Wildcats to lose those two games a dozen and three respectively.

Colorado would be in a far better position to be bowl eligible if any one of those games had gone their way in the end. However, since they didn’t, all Sanders and the Buffs can do is try to be better in order to go undefeated over their last two in order to reach the postseason.
Deion Sanders gives impressions of Washington State
Colorado would need to run the table to secure bowl eligibility in their first season under Deion Sanders. That would have to start this Saturday with a win over Washington State on the road.
Like the Buffaloes, the Cougars have a 4-6 record with just one win versus conference competition this season. Cccording to Sanders, though, a record isn’t the only thing that they have in common as he spoke about the great opportunity his team has this weekend on the ‘Colorado Football Coaches Show’.
“Yeah, we have a great opportunity every darn week. But we find a way to mess it up,” Sanders said getting a laugh out of the audience. “Washington State? They’re a lot like us. Statistically, aesthetically, things they excel in, things they don’t? They’re really similar to us. We’re just praying – I’m praying as a coach – I want to play one game of mistake-free football. What I mean by that is I want the offense to show up, the defense to show up, and the special teams to show up. Just one game together.”
