Shedeur Sanders shares what he’ll miss most about Colorado

After two seasons with the program, Shedeur Sanders will go down as one of the most influential players to ever put on a uniform for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Week 14 represented the Buffaloes quarterback’s final home game for the team, and he took some time to reminisce on the last two seasons, via the latest episode of 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders. Sanders shared what he’ll miss most about Colorado as his football journey moves to the next step, and why he’ll always look back fondly on his memories in Boulder.
“I’ll say having the mountains in the background, and having the fans be there, knowing that we changed the culture. Knowing, it was a bad mindset. Losing mindset. Two years ago. Shortly, we were able to come in and change everything,” Sanders stated. “That’s really tough, you know, on coaches. It’s tough on players. It’s tough on the environment. Because that type of stuff doesn’t really happen that often.
“Especially the way we did it, against all the odds. Against all the naysayers and people talking reckless about us for no reason. We were still able to go out there, put on a performance and change the narrative. Change the culture.”

Sanders and his teammates changed everything about Colorado. When they got to Boulder, the football team was far from a winner, and while it took some controversial changes to get the job done, the program is in a far better place now than when the quarterback originally arrived.
Additionally, Sanders himself has a bright future outside of Colorado, as well. After passing for 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns, the quarterback seems to be on his way towards being one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. While there’s quite a bit of preparation to do until then, he’s put himself in an incredible position.
Alas, what Shedeur Sanders has meant to Colorado can’t be understated, and he’ll always be revered in Boulder moving forward, wherever his football journey takes him in the future.
