Shedeur Sanders taunts Arizona State student section after game-winning drive
The Colorado Buffaloes escaped the desert with a win over the Arizona State Sun Devils in a Saturday night Week 6 matchup. The Buffaloes picked up their fourth win of the season, improving to 4-2, behind another solid performance by star quarterback Shedeur Sanders. And following another big performance on the night, Sanders let the Sun Devil fans in attendance know how he felt.
After leading Colorado down the field for the game-winning field goal, Sanders celebrated with his team. He then continued celebrating by approaching the Sun Devils student section and trolling them with his signature celebration of showing his watch.
This was not the first time Sanders and the Arizona State student section were introduced to each other, as after he scored his rushing touchdown earlier in the game, he proceeded to direct his touchdown celebration at them then. You can check out the Buffaloes’ star quarterback getting the last punch in against the Arizona State fans and attendants in the video below.
Shedeur Sanders is considered by many to be worthy of a first round selection in the upcoming 2024 Draft, and he proved why that is on Saturday night. For much of the game, the Arizona State defense hounded the Buffaloes star quarterback. Still, he put together an efficient night, connecting on 62 percent of his pass attempts for 239 yards with one passing touchdown and the aforementioned rushing touchdown.
Above all else, he remained poised on the game’s final drive, setting Colorado up for the game-winning field goal by kicker Alejandro Mata.
Shedeur Sanders is worthy of a first round selection
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders has put his name right at the top as one of the biggest in college football. His future as a pro, though, could be just as bright and might be coming sooner than some may think.
Bruce Feldman of The Athletic and FOX said as much in an appearance on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’ this week. While some think Sanders could capitalize off another year in college before coming out in the next draft, he believes he could be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft based on what he has put on display in Boulder already this fall.

“A first-round grade might be there right now,” Feldman said.
“I think everything you look at with him? There aren’t many guys who have a Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes arm anyway,” explained Feldman. “It’s like, ‘Oh, well, how well does he see it? How accurate is he? Does he have presence? Is he tough?’. All those things? He has.”
No one has been shy about Sanders’ chances of making it to the NFL as a high selection as of late. The level of buzz around the topic has exploded after he came to the Pac-12 from Jackson State and has put up nearly 1,800 passing yards and 15 touchdowns in his first five games. He has done it efficiently as well with a completion rate of 74.8% while also only throwing two picks.
This upcoming draft class is going to have several quarterbacks at the top of the conversation. It’s incredibly hard to break your name into a space with prospects like Caleb William and Drake Maye among others.
Still, Sanders has managed to do exactly that and might not be too far off from following his father’s footsteps to the next level.
