The brash nature of the Colorado football team under Deion Sanders is not dying down. Just listen to an episode his son’s new podcast, “2Legendary,” just to get a taste.

On an episode released on Tuesday, host Shedeur Sanders is joined by his older brother and Colorado safety Shilo Sanders. On the episode, as the two discussed dealing with outsiders disliking hearing about Colorado constantly, Shilo repeated a previous claim his brother had made.

“It is what it is, bruh. It’s their Super Bowl,” Shilo said.

In a way, Shilo was correct in his analysis. Who could forget how seemingly intent Oregon head coach Dan Lanning was on obliterating the Buffaloes in 2023? The way Colorado’s football program has seemingly prioritized winning out in the attention economy, above all else, has certainly drawn out the ire in various corners of college football.

But in another aspect, a team that finished the season 4-8 and is now gunning to make it over the hump into bowl contention is hardly the pinnacle game for most opponents.

The brothers also remarked that the phenomenon didn’t necessarily start at Colorado, either.

“But that’s how it was at Jackson [State], too, though,” Shedeur said.

Shilo concurred.

“Yeah, but we know that. But why do you think the away games were all packed out?” he said.

Either way, the Sanders brothers expect the attention — good and otherwise — to keep coming.

“I know we all deal with hate in different ways. I really don’t care,” Shilo said.

Shedeur originally claimed Colorado was Super Bowl for opponents

Shedeur made headlines at Big 12 Media Days when he claimed Colorado is “everybody’s Super Bowl.”

On the surface, it’s an intriguing statement from the Buffaloes’ quarterback. But when you peel back the layers, it’s a fascinating situation when teams play Colorado.

Colorado created buzz as soon as Sanders’ father Deion took over the program ahead of the 2023 season and despite a 4-8 season, the hype train hasn’t slowed down.

“(It’s) been that since day one,” Sanders said. “I remember(my)  first media day when I was in HBCU, I said we won’t lose a game. I’m undefeated in the SWAC so I already know what the expectation comes with. I know we’re everybody’s Super Bowl so I really just stay level headed and grounded. I would never want to be that guy to look back and not (be) able to take advantage of the moment we have right now.”
