Shilo Sanders has some acting credit under his belt when he portrayed father Deion Sanders in the show BMF.

The full title, Black Mafia Family, follows a family of drug trafficking and money launderers. A series on Starz, Sanders appeared in Season 3 as his father.

Shilo Sanders portrayed the professional version of his father when he was doubling up as an NFL star and MLB outfielder.

“It was cool being able to, you know, actually officially portray dad,” Sanders said on 2Legendary. “You know, I’d be always joking about it all the time. So it was cool that you know, dang, it’s on a real show now.”

Shilo Sanders got his feet wet as an actor and said it was similar to making a song, in terms of takes and remembering lines.

“You can kind of punch in because you got to do takes, it’s like making a song,” Sanders said. “But at the same time you still have to remember stuff … They just read it for a little bit. They just read it a little bit and then kind of remember and then after you remember it and you just say it, but it’s really fast.

“So they’ll spend the whole day like, not even memorize the scripts, but you just look at it right before you do it and then you go through like you have some rehearsals, probably like three takes of rehearsing and then basically you just usually roll with it. If you mess up, you just stop, redo it … It was cool just like seeing how this stuff works. Like behind the scenes, you know, like how they build … like all the scenes.”

If Shilo Sanders can play like Deion Sanders on the field, the Colorado defense could be much more effective this season.

“I feel like since last year, I’m just watching film of last year, how everything went down,” Sanders said. “I feel I could have definitely did a better (job of) just using instincts because football is a game of inches.”

Sanders alluded to some hesitation in 2024 but wants to really on his gut feeling, so to speak.

“I’ll be like right there and I feel like if I just use my instincts like my prime time instincts that’s ingrained in us,” Sanders began. “I’m saying it will get there, make it happen, but I feel like just you know, I feel way more comfortable now, I feel way smarter.

“Because that year of extra experiences is  definitely good. And so playing at that level because you know, we came from Jackson State and then before I was at South Carolina, but you were at Jackson State and just getting a year, you know, what people perceive is just a big time ball again … Instincts though. Just using what I studied during the week and going. Just pressing the gas.”
