The Sanders aren’t only competitive on the field. On Saturday, a reporter asked Shilo Sanders which kid holds the honor of being Deion Sanders‘ screensaver. The Colorado defensive back didn’t pull any punches.

“He changes it, but whatever it is on his phone, I’m still the No. 1 son. Sometimes, he has me on there. Sometimes, he has Shedeur on there. I’m yet to see one of my sisters on there, though,” Sanders said. “He has different moves. Sometimes, whoever makes him the happiest dad that week is his screensaver, but usually it’s me.”

Can “Coach Prime” really not fit both sons in one photo? After all, he has plenty to proud of. Shilo began his career in South Carolina before transferring to Jackson State to join his father in 2021. In his first season under Deion, Shilo made four appearances and logged four interceptions before tearing his ACL and missing the remainder of the season.

Still recovering from his injury, Shilo tallied just 11 solo tackles, three passes defended and one interception. Although fans hold high expectations for Shilo this season, they pale in comparison to expectations for his younger brother, Shedeur.

Shedeur Sanders was one of three quarterbacks in 2022 who passed for more than 3,500 yards with 40 or greater touchdowns and six or fewer interceptions. With even better pieces around him at Colorado, the junior quarterback boasts endless potential.

Nonetheless, Shilo still claims he holds bragging rights to being his father’s screensaver.

“There’s two different ones. There’s a front screensaver and there’s the one where you unlock the phone. Sometimes I get to catch who’s on there and then I tell the whole family,” Shilo said. “It’s been me. It’s been me for a while now.”

Deion Sanders takes pride in not only being a great father to his sons, but a fantastic coach, as well.

“I don’t know no other way. This is the way it has always been. You guys are just getting an opportunity to see it. So I don’t know no other way,” Deion said on Saturday. “My family was in Jackson, [Mississippi] with me. My kids have always been with me.

“I don’t recall a game, except for when I was in the hospital for four weeks, that anyone else has ever coached Shedeur. The only reason Shilo had another coach is because he went to South Carolina. So, that’s the way it has always been, from Youth League, as long as I can remember. I pride myself on being a real father, and a good son to my mother, and a good brother to my sister and her kids as well.”
