Frustrations have boiled over for Texas Tech fans during Saturday’s game against Colorado. Trash has been thrown onto the field and not just the school’s customary tortillas. A water battle is making the headlines right now since Colorado safety Shilo Sanders has gotten involved.

Sanders picked the watter bottle up and threw it back into the stands to Texas Tech fans. He jawed back at them too before being pulled away by a Colorado staffer. FOX’s camera cut away before showing any more of the action.

Texas Tech’s public announcer did get over the loud speaker and warn people inside Jones AT&T Stadium about throwing trash. Play-by-play announcer Jason Bennetti explained the situation and a huge chunk of fans could be thrown out of the game.

“There was an announcement by the public address person here,” Bennetti said. “If you keep throwing things here, sections will be ejected. Well, you don’t want to sit next to any clowns in that case.”

Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire was fed up with the situation too. He got a microphone during a targeting review and asked the crowd to stop throwing things on the field. A penalty would be called on the Red Raiders eventually and McGuire was not wanting to take any risks.

Objects being thrown onto the field has been a theme in college football this season, specifically in the Lone Star State. This is the first time a player was involved in the madness, although Shilo Sanders did not escelate to more than just a throw and some exchange of words.

The second half is well and underway, with Texas Tech attempting to make a comeback. If any more trash flies from the field, ejections might happen. And McGuire will not be happy if the officials have to get involved.
