Tim Brewster claps back at Danny Kanell following viral video in Colorado meeting room
Colorado tight ends coach Tim Brewster has gone viral after a video inside the Buffaloes’ team meeting has surfaced. Now that the video has made the rounds on social media, people have been chiming in their two cents, including CBS Sports’ personality and former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell.
“If you ever wondered why college coaches don’t work in the NFL … this in a nutshell is why,” Kanell tweeted.
What makes Kanell’s take special – Brewster actually responded to it.
“Hey Danny I coached 5 years in the NFL and would like to think was very successful, ask Antonio Gates,” Brewster wrote.

Brewster was Antonio Gates’ tight ends coach from 2002 through 2004 and was promoted to assistant head caoch for his final season. Many credit him with the rapid ascent of Gates, one of the NFL’s all-time great tight ends, going from an undrafted free agent to a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection the following year.

Sure, his comments make for a fair comeback, but we’re going to need Gates’ input to decide the ultimate verdict. On one hand, it could look like discipline training and on the other, it seems to be an unimportant display of authority. At the end of the day, Deion Sanders wants that type of intensity in his coaching staff – to him, he probably wants that to rub off on his roster, too.

“When I say stand tall, I want you bouncing out of your seat. When I say stand tall, get your a** up,” Brewster shouted. They stood. “Stand tall. Sit your a** back down. Stand tall. We coming!” The players echoed.
“When them Colorado Buffaloes show up, there’s 60 minutes of hell coming with ’em. Sixty minutes of hell coming with it! The time is now, men. The time is now! Sit down.”
