Tom Brady expresses pride in Shedeur Sanders after working with him, Deion Sanders
Tom Brady and Shedeur Sanders have an interesting personal relationship with the Colorado quarterback saying he’ll go “Brady Mode” and Sanders sharing texts from the argued GOAT (greatest of all time).
Sanders learned from Brady throughout his life, despite being coached by his father Deion Sanders everywhere, including at Colorado. So seeing the 3-0 start with wins over TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State brought a lot of pride to Brady’s face.
Deion Sanders joined Brady on Let’s Go!, Brady’s podcast on Sirius XM, and discussed the latest win.
“Yeah, they were resilient,” Sanders said. “I was happy I was upset because we started out like garbage like we have the last couple of weeks. We started out slow offensively, but we slowly but surely got it going. And thank God the little fella don’t flinch. I mean, the thing about it I knew not just as a coach, but as a father, I knew as long as the ball is in his hands, we’re fine. It was a funny time like throughout the game, I’m a dad and a coach.
“But Shiloh came to me at the end. You know when we’re getting ready to go to overtime. He said ‘you putting defense out there first?’ I said ‘we ain’t stop nobody all day, your brother’s gonna do this.’”
Brady gave his two cents and simply put, he was amazed by Shedeur Sanders.
“It was amazing to watch,” Brady said. “I’m so proud of him and you know, watching him grow and mature. And you know, it’s, we all started in a certain place and he had a lot of high expectations and he’s embraced it. I love him and it just makes me proud to see what he’s doing so and that was just the beginning for you guys and this obviously this season but beyond that … you’re a great dad to be able to be there for him every step of the way. So it’s really fun to watch.”
Tom Brady takes pride in Shedeur Sanders’ success with Colorado
Deion Sanders told Brady Shedeur loved him and Deion even uses Brady in arguments with his star quarterback son.
“I love it,” Sanders said. “First of all, he loves you to life and I could just, I’m just thinking about the moments when you was on the field with him and just showing him you know, you know, just showing little things and he took all that stuff to heart.

“Everything you do, everything you say and you have no idea how many times I use you to get on his butt. I say ‘you think Tom has a Maybach? You think Tom had a Rolls Royce in college?’”
If this is any indication, it seems like Brady and Shedeur Sanders will certainly stay in contact.
“I love it,” Brady said. “I’m always here for him because I think in him, I see someone that you know, he’s obviously got a great work ethic, but he wants the knowledge too. I think part of all of us on this call too is so many people that came into our life, which allows us to be successful and obviously having great parents but having these other instrumental people that come in at the right time when you’re really open to learning.”
Brady made sure to say Shedeur is successful because of his work ethic but also by how smart he is surrounding himself with the right people.
“It’s like so many people always ask me, ‘how good you think this guy’s going to be, how good,’” Brady said. “And I always say, ‘Well, it depends who he surrounds himself with. It depends who mentored them’ because and even you (Deion) weren’t a finished product at 21 or 22 (years old).
“I certainly wasn’t. I had the right people come into my life. I was open to learning from them and then when I learned from Coach Belichick … that’s when it just kept going and going and going. So the sky’s the limit when you have the opportunity to learn. If you’re hard headed, you think you know everything, and believe me there’s a lot of kids out there they think they know everything and they don’t know (expletive) and that’s the problem.”
