Travis Hunter injury update: FOX broadcast updates Colorado star's status for second half

Colorado cornerback and receiver Travis Hunter is out for the remainder of the game against Arizona due to a reaggravation of an injury to his right shoulder. With the Buffaloes leading 28-7 entering the second half, he was seen wearing street clothes on the sideline as coach Deion Sanders opted to hold him out for “preventative measures.”
Hunter suffered the injury in last weekend’s loss to Kansas State but was able to come back and play this week. He’ll finish the contest with a pair of catches for 17 yards in addition to a tackle on defense.
“Travis Hunter will be done for the day,” FOX sideline reporter Allison Williams said. “A slight reaggravation of the injury he suffered last week, but it’s more just to be cautious with him. With this game the way it is, they want to be safe, so his day is done.”
Hunter was building a Heisman Trophy campaign early on this season but the injury has kept him limited over the past couple of weeks. He now has just five catches for 43 yards over the past two games.

Hunter’s overall numbers for the season are still plenty impressive. He now has 51 catches for 605 yards and six touchdowns in addition to 19 tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended.
Colorado currently leads 31-7 with four minutes remaining in the third quarter and will improve to 5-2 (3-1 Big 12) if it holds on to win. That would put the Buffaloes only one game away from reaching six wins for the first time since 2016.
Thankfully, the injury doesn’t seem like a serious issue for Travis Hunter. We should expect the do-it-all star back when Colorado faces Cincinnati.
