Tulsa transfer wide receiver Joseph Williams committed to Utah via the NCAA Transfer Portal on Dec. 18. However, only four days later, Williams has now flipped his commitment to Colorado.

Williams recorded 30 receptions for 588 yards and eight touchdowns this season at Tulsa. It was his debut collegiate campaign. For his efforts, he was named the AAC Freshman of the Year.

Williams had his best game in Tulsa’s narrow 38-31 loss to East Carolina when he hauled in five catches for 158 yards and three touchdowns.

Williams played high school football at Mansfield Summit (TX), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,305 overall recruit and No. 51 wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Williams is the ninth player Colorado has added via the transfer portal this cycle. He was the No. 31 available receiver in the transfer portal, according to On3’s 2025 Transfer Portal Player Rankings.

It’s no surprise that a talented young receiver would be interested in joining Colorado. After all, Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has transformed his program into a premier destination for players who want to play in an air-raid offense.

Colorado averaged 327.2 passing yards per game this season, the fourth-most in the country. With standout receiver Travis Hunter moving onto the NFL after this season, Williams will be a welcome new member of Colorado’s receiving corps.

Colorado will have no shortage of quarterback talent to feed Williams next season. Earlier this month, the program flipped five-star quarterback Julian Lewis, who was previously committed to USC. The Buffaloes didn’t stop there, either.

On Dec. 18, highly-coveted transfer QB Kaidon Salter signed with Colorado. Over the course of four years at Liberty, Salter amassed 5,889 yards, 56 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, a 58.7% completion percentage, 2,006 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns.

Now, he’ll look to find similar success at Colorado. The Buffaloes still have one game left this season. They will square off against BYU in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28.
