Vanderbilt QB transfer Walter Taylor commits to Colorado
Former Vanderbilt quarterback Walter Taylor has committed to Colorado out of the NCAA transfer portal, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He played five games for the Commodores in 2023.
During those five appearances this season for the Commodores, Taylor tallied 44 passing yards and zero touchdowns while throwing one interception. Additionally, Taylor recorded 30 rushing attempts for 103 yards and one touchdown. Taylor did not play in his freshman season at Vanderbilt.
Taylor played high school football at Jackson (Ala.), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,143 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He is the latest player to commit to Coach Prime out of the portal, joining fellow former SEC talents Quency Wiggins, brothers Destin and Keaten Wade, as well as former Vanderbilt teammate Will Sheppard, among others.
Colorado finished 4-8 under first-year head coach Deion Sanders, dropping seven of their last eight games to end the season.
