5-star DL Williams Nwaneri visits Colorado
Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North five-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri is spending his Saturday on a visit to Colorado. Nwaneri shared a picture from the visit with him wearing a Buffaloes jersey to his Instagram story.
Nwaneri is the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Missouri.
On3 rates Nwaneri higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Nwaneri is the No. 2 overall prospect in the country.
The trip to Boulder is the first for Nwaneri as he’s already set official visits with Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon and Tennessee. He told On3’s Chad Simmons that this visit would be pivotal in figuring out if Colorado would be added to that list.
This visit is big for me so I can see how I feel about Colorado afterwards. “I’m not planning to take too many official visits, so this will be my chance to see how interested I am in Colorado.”
Williams Nwaneri currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $311K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Landing Nwaneri would be massive for Sanders and co.
Deion Sanders landed a massive win shortly after taking the Colorado job flipping five-star cornerback Cormani McClain from Miami.
While they may have work to do to land another five-star prospect like Nwaneri, the five-star defensive lineman admits that he’s interested to see what the Buffaloes look under Sanders.
“I just want to see what it is like under Coach (Deion) Sanders,” Nwaneri said. “I don’t really know what to expect. Based on what I have been hearing, I expect there to be a lot of energy in the stadium and for it to be full of fans. I just want to see what it is like. I want to get a feel for how it is all the way around.”
Colorado currently has five commitments in its 2024 class. That class has five commitments including a pair of four-star prospects in cornerback Ju’Juan Johnson and defensive lineman Omar White.
