Baylor transfer EDGE JaQues Evans commits to Colorado State
Baylor Bears transfer defensive end JaQues Evans is taking his talents to Colorado State, committing to join the Rams via the NCAA Transfer Portal. On3’s Pete Nakos has confirmed the move.
Evans transferred to Baylor after multiple seasons of being an all-conference-caliber player at Western Kentucky. He was named the 2023 CUSA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, but saw his junior campaign cut short due to injury after just six games.
As a sophomore in 2022, Evans logged 106 tackles, 14.0 tackles for a loss, 9.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries, a blocked kick and five passes defended. For that he was named to the 2022 All-Conference USA first team.
In four seasons at Western Kentucky, Evans recorded 182 tackles, 19.0 tackles for a loss, 12.0 sacks, five fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, a blocked kick and seven passes defended. However, he only made two total tackles during his lone season with the Bears.

More on JaQues Evans, Colorado State Rams
Moreover, Ohio State transfer WR Kojo Antwi has also signed with Colorado State, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. He entered the transfer portal Dec. 9.
Antwi spent three seasons at Ohio State, appearing in 11 total games across that span. His lone career reception came this past year – an eight-yarder against Western Michigan. By preserving a redshirt in 2023, he will have two years of eligibility remaining as he makes his way to Colorado State.
Antwi played high school football at Suwanee (Ga.) Lambert, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 191 overall player from the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
