Auburn transfer wide receiver Caleb Burton commits to Connecticut
Auburn Tigers transfer wide receiver Caleb Burton III is taking his talents to Connecticut, committing to join the Huskies via the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.
Burton has spent the past two seasons at Auburn, where his production varied quite a bit. He logged just two catches for 49 yards during the 2024 campaign, his sophomore season.
He had a little more output as a freshman in 2023, when he caught 16 passes for 226 yards.
Prior to enrolling at Auburn, Burton originally enrolled at Ohio State. He transferred programs prior to the 2023 season.
Before he was in the college ranks, Caleb Burton checked in as a four-star recruit and the No. 160 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He was also the No. 28 wide receiver in his class and the No. 26 overall player in the state of Texas, hailing from Del Valle (TX) Lake Travis.

Jackson was a three-star prospect in the 2023 signing class. He redshirted his true freshman campaign in Lincoln.
Jackson announced his plans to enter the portal in early December: “It is bittersweet that I announce I am entering the Transfer Portal,” Jackson wrote on social media. “HuskerNation, this has been one of the best experiences witnessing such an electrifying fan(base). I will forever cherish the memories.”
Jackson played high school football at Central Dauphin East (PA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 670 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
