Report: Paige Bueckers stalker pleads guilty to second-degree charge
A man arrested for stalking UConn’s Paige Bueckers has pleaded guilty and agreed to a plea deal, according to ESPN.
On Wednesday, Robert Parmalee plead guilty to a second-degree stalking charge at Rockville Superior Court.
With that, the judge gave Parmalee a one-year suspended sentence and three years of probation. During that probation, he is also barred from the state of Connecticut, which means he has since returned to his home state of Washington, as well as all events for UConn’s program and the WNBA. That includes arenas, hotels, and practice facilities in relation to the Huskies and the Women’s National Basketball Association. He must also continue to follow a protective order that’s been in place since mid-September and will go on through January 4th, 2064.
Officers originally arrested Parmalee back on August 27th. At that time, he told state police that he intended on seeing Bueckers. Before that, he had previously posted that he planned on proposing to her and hoped to get her expelled from UConn. Law enforcement then then arrested him again on September 13th and charged with breach of peace, electronic stalking, and harassment. This comes after multiple engagements going back to Feburary and through the summer where he posted about her as well as reached out to her on social media before she filed a statement in September.
