After threatening those who tamper with the transfer portal to start this week, UConn’s Jim Mora has now outright named a school that is doing so.

In a tweet on Thursday, Mora continued on his warpath against those in college sports who are tampering with players like his in the portal. That post included a quote from what would be one of his Huskies who had contact with a program that he went ahead and singled out in Washington State.

“I was originally content with my decision with coming to UConn I feel like I allowed Washington State to get into my head when I could have just ignored them I expressed to them that I was signed but I continued to conversate,” Mora shared in a quote.

“Why do grown men continue to manipulate @NCAAFootball tampering rules and put players in the uncomfortable position this young man was put in!” Mora continued in his tweet. “I promised to call out those tampering with our players and threatening what our players are working so hard to build. I intend to continue to do so and hope more college coaches will join me in fighting the blatant tampering taking place.”

Again, this comes after another tweet from Mora on the matter of tampering on Monday.

“A simple note to the schools and coaches that have blatantly broken @NCAAFootball rules by tampering with our players in the last 24 hours. We do know who you are, we will pursue all avenues to hold you accountable,” Mora posted. “We are excited that we’ve built a program where coaches have to cheat to beat us and we will protect that program. Think hard before you tamper with our players. #justgettingstarted

This comes after Connecticut went 9-4 overall this season for their best finish in three years under Mora. It’s also their best since 2007.

With that, the Huskies, being an independent, smaller program, could be a prime one to look for potential transfers on for some coach across the country. A dozen from their roster have entered the portal with all of those doing so earlier in the portal cycle for them.

However, although noting them, Wazzu has added none of them with the Cougars having taken zero transfers to this point amidst their coaching change over the last week or so to Jimmy Rogers. Tampering is an obvious and well-known issue in the portal for all teams. Mora is protecting his as best he can, though, and by any means necessary, even if it means he starts naming names like he did yesterday.
