Four-Star SG Larry Johnson commits to Creighton
Castaic (Calif.) SoCal Academy 2024 four-star shooting guard Larry Johnson has committed to Creighton.
The 6-foot-4, 175-pound senior chose Greg McDermott and the Bluejays over a final group of Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Illinois, and Missouri.
“Me and coach built a good relationship,” Johnson said to On3. “I feel like they fit my play style because there’s a lot of room to operate the moving the ball.”
In his own words, what type of player is Creighton getting in Johnson?
“I’m a downhill player that can pass, defend the other team’s best player,” he says. “A winner and can do whatever the coach needs.”

Johnson has a message to Bluejay fans.
“I’m ready to get to work and put on a show and give the fans show time every night.”
Johnson is the third player in the class of 2024 to choose Creighton. He joins four-star power forward Jackson McAndrew (No. 44) and three-star point guard Ty Davis (No. 221).
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Johnson is the No. 86 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 20 shooting guard prospect and the No. 10 player in California. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
