2025 QB Dan Mahan commits to Duke Blue Devils

Burlington (N.C.) Walter M Williams three-star quarterback Dan Mahan has committed to the Duke Blue Devils.

He is the nation’s No. 1,015 overall prospect, No. 80 quarterback and No. 23 recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Mahan is a one-time Appalachian State commit who decommitted from the Mountaineers earlier this week.

He is the seventh prospect to join Duke’s 2025 class. Other commitments include Salem (N.J.) St. Joseph’s Prep four-star linebacker Cam Smith, Gainesville (Ga.) three-star defensive lineman Julius Columbus, Boston Belmont Hill three-star EDGE Sampson Onuoha, Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph three-star safety Ma’khi Jones, Philadelphia Roman Catholic three-star safety William Felder and Hamden (Conn.) Hall linebacker Asher Wasserman.

Blue Devils vying for momentum on recruiting trail

Duke signed 16 prospects in the 2024 cycle as it dealt with the exit of head coach Mike Elko. The class ranks just No. 60 in the nation and No. 14 in the ACC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Headlining the class is Hiram (Ga.) three-star wide receiver Chase Tyler, the No. 516 recruit and No. 80 WR in the cycle. Other top signees in the class include Upland (Calif.) three-star cornerback Kyren Condoll, Chattanooga (Tenn.) Red Bank three-star EDGE Kobe Smith, Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan three-star safety Landan Callahan and Newnan (Ga.) Woodward Academy three-star interior offensive lineman Bradley Smith.
