On3 Consensus five-star recruit Caleb Foster has made it official, signing his National Letter of Intent to Duke on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5 point guard playing at Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame was the first 2023 prospect to commit to the Blue Devils, back in September of 2021. He chose Duke over Auburn, Virginia, Stanford, Wake Forest, Louisville, Clemson, among others.

Duke has a five-man class in 2023, highlighted by five-stars Jared McCain, Sean Stewart, Mackenzie Mgbako, and four-star TJ Power.

Foster ranks as the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies.

Scouting Summary

Caleb Foster has excellent positional size. His calling card is his jump shot. It is smooth, with excellent balance off the catch. He has range and a high, repeatable release. Foster lacks blow-by speed in the half-court and is reliant on his change of pace and handle. Foster is a solid athlete. He plays poised, is never rattled, and has been on the biggest stages for a while. Smaller, quicker guards can frustrate him when they get under him, but he moves the ball well and is an excellent pitch-ahead passer. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
