Duke outfielder Devin Obee officially enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Duke outfielder Devin Obee has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers reported in July that Obee would be planning to enter the transfer portal after he finished his summer classes and graduated. With the outfielder now making his departure from the Duke program official in August.
Obee had breakout year for the Blue Devils last season in year three with the program. Starting in all 60 games at center field where he posted a .309 batting average with 67 hits, 57 runs, 50 RBIs, 11 doubles, two triples, and 16 home runs (one inside the park).
He was particularly potent in the postseason where he was named the ACC Tournament MVP after Duke took home the ACC Tournament Championship. Recording seven hits, eight RBIs, and three home runs in the Blue Devils’ four straight victories on their way to the title.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 215 pounds, Obee is also known for his elite physical traits. A workout warrior who’s hit 400 foot home runs and was named a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American in July.

“Obee is one of the best athletes at Duke in any sport,” Duke Director of Sports Performance Dan Perlmutter said. “He has elite speed, power, strength and athleticism, and has worked incredibly hard to develop and harness these assets to become a dominating power hitter and center fielder. Devin makes highlight plays on the field seem effortless and moves super heavy loads in the weight room at eye-popping speeds. He brings a quiet and powerful combination of humility and energy to his training.”
Before being a team captain at Duke, Obee played high school baseball at Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tennessee where he was ranked the No. 7 player in Tennessee, the No. 225 overall player in the country for the 2022 recruiting class according to Perfect Game.
All in all Obee played in 147 games with 98 starts in his Duke career, posting a .269 batting average with .540 slugging and .361 on base percentage. As he’ll now join a new program with 101 hits, 88 runs, and 25 homers under his belt in his collegiate career.
