Duke forward Kyle Filipowski helped off court after troubling ankle injury
The Duke Blue Devils raced out to a 12-0 start over the Pittsburgh Panthers in their first game of the ACC Tournament, but it wasn’t all good.
Star center Kyle Filipowski was off to an awesome start, scoring six points to begin the game, but then rolled his ankle. The Blue Devils big man had to be helped off the court, and is being seen by doctors on the bench at the moment.
Check out the moment where he limped off in pain below, shared to Twitter by Travon Miles of ABC 11.
On the season thus far, Filipowski has averaged 15.0 points and 9.2 rebounds. If he were to miss any time, it would be a huge blow to a Duke team with big dreams.
We’ll keep and eye on Kyle Filipowski and update the story accordingly. Hopefully the Duke star is able to shake it off and return to the game against the Panthers in due time.

More on Duke Blue Devils, ACC Tournament Day 3
Starting off the action on Thursday was No. 1 Miami taking on No. 9 Wake Forest, the latter using their momentum following Daivien Williamson‘s clutch three-pointer on Wednesday to keep up with the Hurricanes at the onset. Still, it was Jim Larranaga’s squad in the catbird seat from the start, utilizing 13 points from Jordan Miller to take a 34-29 lead into halftime.
A half court shot was waved off for the Demon Deacons at the end of the first half, and it was a sign of things to come for Wake Forest, who couldn’t climb out of a hole to defeat the Hurricanes despite trying their damndest. Miami advances to the next round by a score of 74-72, where they’ll attempt to continue their run. The aforementioned Miller will look to stay hot in the next round, building on his 18-point performance.
Later, it’ll be a showdown of ACC behemoths between Virginia (23-6) and North Carolina (20-12). The Cavaliers haven’t hit the floor yet in Greensboro, but the Tar Heels are coming off a roaring victory over Boston College on Wednesday. Virginia is a 2.0-point favorite entering the game.
Capping off an exciting Thursday is NC State (23-9) and Clemson (22-9), the former coming off a 20-point victory over Virginia Tech on Wednesday. The Tigers are underdogs by 2.5-points according to Vegas, so Brad Brownell will have to try to swing momentum in his team’s favor.
