LOOK: Duke hilariously trolls Pete Nance on National Oreo Cookie Day

Duke basketball had some fun on Twitter at the expense of North Carolina forward Pete Nance with Monday being National Oreo Cookie Day. The Blue Devils tweeted a photoshopped image of big man Kyle Filipowski dunking an Oreo with teammate Ryan Young holding a glass of milk under the basket.
Nance was in the background holding out his arm and clutching and bag of lemon Oreos. “Happy National Oreo Cookie Day to all those who celebrate!!” the caption read.
Of course, UNC coach Hubert Davis famously used lemon Oreos to motivate Nance ahead of a game against Virginia last month. The forward responded with 22 points and four rebounds in a 71-63 upset of the No. 11 Cavaliers, and the story took off from there.
However, Duke recently handed the Tar Heels a 62-57 loss in the regular season finale. Nance scored just three points in that contest and pulled down four rebounds.
North Carolina (18-11, 11-9 ACC) finds itself on the wrong side of NCAA Tournament bubble heading into the ACC Tournament this week. It will need a couple more wins to give itself a shot at making the field of 68.

Hubert Davis shares story about Pete Nance’s lemon Oreos
Hubert Davis is going to have to make a grocery list for Pete Nance before every North Carolina game from now on.
Nance score 22 points and pulled down four rebounds after Davis reportedly motivated him with lemon Oreos ahead of the Tar Heels’ victory over the Virginia Cavaliers. Speaking with the media afterwards, Davis revealed he’s going to have to make a couple more trips to Harris Teeter moving forward.
“I don’t know, but I’m stopping by Harris Teeter today,” Davis joked, asked if the Oreos have become a good luck charm. “This week, Pete stopped by the office and we started talking about cookies. I asked him, Do you like Crumbl Cookies or Insomnia? He said, I like Crumbl Cookies. I said, Well, I like Insomnia cookies. I told him the best type of cookies that I like, and I asked him what is your favorite cookie. He said a lemon Oreo. I said I’ve heard of Oreo cookies, I’ve never heard of a lemon Oreo cookie. He said just go to the grocery store. So I said okay, I’m going to go to Harris Teeter right after practice, I’m going to go look for the lemon Oreo and I said if I can’t find it, we’re going to get in a brawl. He said fine. So I went into Harris Teeter, and there they were.
“So after every home pregame meal, he goes up to my office and takes a nap on my couch, so when he went in there I had the Oreo cookies laying down. So right after the game I walked into the locker room and said guys, you have no idea what allowed us to be pretty good today. He went into the locker and threw the Oreos. He didn’t eat it yet. Threw it right there on the ground. Coach May said you’ve got to go to Harris Teeter today. So as soon as I leave you guys, I’m going to Harris Teeter. Go get some more lemon Oreos cookies.”
