Duke offers Utah 3-star CB commit CJ Blocker

New Caney (Texas) three-star cornerback and Utah commit CJ Blocker received an offer from Duke on Saturday. He announced the news on social media.

Blocker is the No. 520 overall prospect and No. 51 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 88 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-0, 165 pound prospect committed to the Utes on June 28. He is currently the fifth-highest-ranked prospect in Utah’s 2023 recruiting class. Each recruit ranked ahead of him is in the top-500 of the On3 Consensus.

The Utes’ 2023 class is No. 37 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 5 in the Pac-12. It contains 13 commitments.

Blocker has nine offers. Other schools that have extended them include Boston College, Kansas State and Nebraska.

Regarding Duke, the Blue Devils have two cornerback pledges in their 2023 recruiting class. Duke’s group ranks No. 47 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the ACC. Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan three-star EDGE Semaj Turner is the highest-ranked member of Duke’s class as the No. 595 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

Blocker has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
