Duke pitcher Jackson Emus enters the NCAA transfer portal
Duke graduate student Jackson Emus, a senior right-handed pitcher, has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Emus is a former Princeton transfer who joined the Blue Devils prior to the 2024 season. He had a bit of a rough year for Duke in his debut.

On the year, Emus logged 15 appearances with one start, pitching 17.2 innings. He gave up 17 earned runs, while striking out 31 and walking 12, with consistency and control a bit of an issue.
Still, he’ll give someone an experienced arm out of the transfer portal.
While at Princeton, Jackson Emus appeared in 26 games while starting 23 of them. He worked 125.1 innings and put together a career ERA of 5.89. The numbers were pretty good, too.
Emus struck out 134 batters and even threw a complete game. He struck out nine in a combined no-hitter at Yale.
In addition to his pitching stats, Jackson Emus also racked up a couple accolades. He was a two-time Academic All-Ivy recipient and was a two-time Ivy League Pitcher of the Week award winner.
LSU baseball loses a pitcher to the portal
Duke isn’t the only program that has lost some pitching to the portal, as LSU also lost a quality arm — albeit one that had a relatively minor impact — on Sunday morning.

LSU left-handed pitcher Nick Bronzini has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Bronzini spent two seasons with the Tigers, taking a redshirt in 2023 before making relatively minimal contributions during the 2024 campaign. He played in six games.
During those six appearances, Bronzini posted a 5.79 ERA in 4.2 innings of action, giving up three earned runs on five hits. He struck out eight and walked four.
LSU actually played remarkably well in just about all of Bronzini’s appearances, winning five of the six contests. Bronzini had great run support, with LSU averaging 13.3 runs per game in his six appearances.
In announcing his entrance to the NCAA transfer portal on Twitter, Nick Bronzini advertised himself as throwing a fastball in the 89-92 mile per hour range, a slider in the 79-82 mile per hour range and a change-up in the 82-85 mile per hour range.
