Elite 2025 prospects Cameron, Cayden Boozer to visit Duke this weekend

Jon Scheyer and Duke have an enormous amount of momentum on the recruiting trail, as the Blue Devils own the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle.

With the Early Signing Period now open, eyes are also beginning to turn toward the class of 2025. Arguably the two biggest names in the cycle are now set to head to Durham this weekend.

Miami Christopher Columbus High’s elite twin prospects, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, are taking an official visit to Duke this weekend, according to 247Sports.com’s Travis Branham. They are the sons of former Blue Devil and longtime NBA forward Carlos Boozer.

This will be the fourth OV for the high-profile recruits. They have previously visited Kentucky, Miami and Florida.

Cameron Boozer is the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Cayden checks in as the No. 16 recruit and No. 3 PG in the class.

“(I hear from Duke) a good amount,” Cameron told KSR in July. “He’s a good coach who is following up an all-time great. It’s tough, but I feel like he’s going to do a good job the next couple of years.”

“Coach Scheyer and Coach Lucas (reach out),” Cayden added. “They did a good job last year and I’m looking forward to what they do this year and the years after that.”

Cameron — “Cameron Boozer plays at one level, never too high or never too low. He plays with excellent balance in all parts of the game. The jump shot has a smooth release. He is an excellent defensive rebounder and a high-level outlet passer. He has strong hands when he gathers the ball. Does not mind getting physical and will play with and through contact. He has good straight-line athleticism and runs the floor very well. Has average burst in short space, but he understands angles and rotations on the defensive end very well. Never rushed. Good pace.”

Cayden — “Cayden Boozer is a strong-framed and aggressive point guard. At 6-foot-2, 6-foot-3 is a tough on-the-ball defender. He has quick feet at the point of attack and a strong IQ, understanding angles, and footwork. There is a toughness about Boozer. He is a good passer, plays well out of the pick and roll, his head is up, and has a great pace. He will need to continue to tighten the handle in traffic and continue to hone the reads, but that is natural growth. The jump shot is streaky; it is something he will need to continue developing to become a consistent threat. Boozer finishes well in the paint through contact.”
