Entering the final week of the regular season, the days of Duke Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski being on the sideline are limited. He will have two more games — one on the road against the Pittsburgh Panthers and another at Cameron Indoor Stadium against in-state arch-rivals, the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Before what should be an emotional week for Krzyzewski, ESPN college basketball analyst Divk Vitale decided to write a message for the head coach. He called Krzyzewski the greatest college basketball coach of all-time ahead of the final two weeks.

“The last week has arrived,” Vitale said. “Sat: 6 p.m. UNC vs Duke. Last game for Coach K coaching at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The VBDI says Coach K is the ‘GOAT’ as a basketball coach on the college level.”

You can see the full thing here.

No matter the results on the court, it’s going to be tough for Krzyzewski to contain his emotions at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Going up against North Carolina can bring enough emotions but closing what has been a storied career could be overwhelming at times.

Former Duke basketball player Jay Bilas discussed the potential emotions recently on The Rich Eisen Show. He said Coach K will be able to manage them during the game and that it will be fun to connect with everyone connected with the Blue Devils’ program.

“He won’t be able to escape the emotion but I know, from knowing him for so long, I know he will manage it the best it can be managed,” Blas said. “It will be a lot of fun to watch and to reminisce and all of that. I’m going to be there early and probably going to stay late because there will be so many former players there. I will probably tip a few back with them once the game is over.”
