Former Duke men’s basketball star Marshall Plumlee, who went on the play in the NBA, announced that he will start on a new career path by enrolling at Harvard Business School in the fall. The decision was announced Sunday afternoon on Instagram and shared by Duke on Twitter.
“I’m starting my next chapter at Harvard Business School as part of the class of 2024,” Plumlee wrote on Instagram with a picture of him on campus. “Between Duke, the NBA, and most recently the Ranger Regiment, I have been blessed with the greatest teammates in the world. I’m excited to build on these experiences with new teammates at HBS this fall!”
Between his education at Duke and now his enrollment at Harvard, Marshall Plumlee can add academics to his legacy beyond the basketball he has played.
Duke men’s basketball responded to the news with a social media message of their own.
“Super proud of our guy Marshall Plumlee,” they posted. “National champ and out all-time leader in 3-point percentage as well!”
Over four seasons at Duke, Plumlee appeared in 124 games with 36 starts as a senior. He averaged 3.4 points and 3.8 rebounds, adding 0.8 blocks per game over his career, but drastically improved in his final year. As Duke pointed out, he also shot 100 percent from the 3-point line on one attempt.
