The Duke Blue Devils Men’s basketball team has seen all the fun other college programs have had with the uni watch unveils. And now they have officially dipped a toe in those waters to see how warm of a response they will get.

The Blue Devils unveiled the uniforms for their game against Virginia Tech with this post. But not only that, they connected a slight quota to the post, and if met, another uniform unveiling would come before their next game.

The goal the Duke men’s basketball team set was a total of five thousand likes. At the time of this article, the total number of likes was over eight thousand, a full three grand over their goal.

The Blue Devils’ upcoming game, on Wednesday night against the Virginia Tech Hokies, is their Atlantic Coast Conference opener. Duke enters the game with a 10-1 record as the nation’s No.2 ranked men’s basketball team. Their opponent, Virginia Tech, comes in with an 8-4 record to open the season.

Duke is a heavy favorite in what will be head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s last conference season opener. In his illustrious career at Duke Krzyzewski has amassed a 31-10 record in conference season openers. And in their home season openers, which this game will be, the Blue Devils are 18-4 under coach K. Not only that, they are currently riding a seven-game home conference opener streak.

Coach Krzyzewski on ACC opener

Mike Krzyzewski and his Duke team are currently 10-1 overall and ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press top 25 poll. The Blue Devils have been playing solid basketball so far this season, but Coach K wants to ensure that stays the same.

Over the past three weeks, the Blue Devils have been going nonstop and haven’t had any time for a break. Since Nov. 26, Duke has played five games – including three in the past five days.

Following their win Saturday over Elon, Krzyzewski said that his team is going to rest up Sunday before preparing for Wednesday’s ACC opener against Virginia Tech at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

“We have to just keep getting better,” Krzyzewski said. “Tomorrow I am getting them away – they are going to come in for testing and do therapy but that is it. It’s been a long three weeks for them. We are going to get fresh. We are going to play against a veteran team in Virginia Tech. They play together. They are older and they are very good. Hopefully, with that two-day preparation, we will have a chance to do a good job against them.”
