Duke guard Tyrese Proctor will remain in Durham for his junior season, according to reports.

Proctor averaged 10.5 points, 3.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds during as a sophomore this past season, starting in 25 of the Blue Devils’ 32 games.

A former four-star recruit in the 2022 class, Proctor was the No. 47 player in the nation when he committed to Duke out of the NBA Global Academy in Sydney, NSW. He was the No. 6 point guard in his class as well, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Now that Proctor has made his decision, Duke fans await announcements from Kyle Filipowski, Jared McCain and Jeremy Roach — all of whom have the option to return to school or declare for the 2024 NBA Draft.

For Proctor, however, he will return to Jon Scheyer’s roster next season and team up with the No. 1 overall recruiting class in the country. Featuring the consensus top overall recruit Cooper Flagg, the 7-foot-2 Khaman Maluach and fellow five-star recruit Isaiah Evans, among a handful of other four-star prospects.

Duke finished the season 27-9 before falling to NC State in the Elite 8. With Proctor leading the charge, the Blue Devils will be looking to march its way into the first Final Four under Scheyer. Their ceiling is endless thanks to the mass set of talent that will take the court for Duke next season.
