ESPN’s Seth Greenberg is a huge fan of Duke’s Cooper Flagg. The analyst made some lofty comparisons for the Blue Devils star on Friday’s edition of Get Up, as he’s readying to attempt to lead his team to a championship over the next month.

When trying to find an NBA parallel for Flagg, Greenberg mentioned some tremendous talents. Evidently, the former college basketball coach sees a bit of Jayson Tatum, Grant Hill and Scottie Pippen in the 18-year-old’s game. You can’t beat that trio.

“He’s got a little Jayson Tatum in his game. He’s got a little Grant Hill in his game. He’s got a little Scottie Pippen in his game,” Greenberg proclaimed. “You’re talking about a 6′9″ guy that you could run your offense through. You’re talking about a 6′9″ guy that can defend multiple positions. You’re talking about a 6′9″ guy that has a ridiculously high basketball IQ.

“We’re talking about a 6′9″ guy that’s 18-years old, and just scratching the surface. His IQ, his feel, his versatility offensively and defensively — I think Tatum, I think Grant Hill, and I think Scottie Pippen.”

All told, NBA teams will be chomping at the bit to bring Flagg to their organization. He’s more than likely going to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, so it’s just a matter of which team is lucky enough in the lottery to land his services and have the opportunity to select a major game-changer out of Durham.

Throughout the 2024-25 season, Flagg has gotten the job done in all facets of the game. He’s averaging 19.6 points per game, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Duke is 27-3 on the season, and not just defeating their competition, but dominating them.

If Flagg lives up to his potential, he could end up being one of the best former Blue Devil stars in the NBA. Of course, he has a ways to go until then, and a college career to end on a high note, but analysts and fans alike can’t stop salivating over his potential.

Time will tell what the future holds for Cooper Flagg. His Duke squad will finish out their regular season on Saturday in Chapel Hill, as they write another chapter in their rivalry with the North Carolina Tar Heels, trying to avoid what would be a bit of an upset if they suffered their fourth loss of the 2024-25 campaign.
