FAU forward Baba Miller enters Transfer Portal

FAU Owls power forward Baba Miller has entered the Transfer Portal, On3’s Jamie Shaw has learned. This is his second time entering the portal.
Baba Miller came to the United States from Spain to play his college basketball. He was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. The 180th-ranked player overall and the 31st-ranked power forward in that recruiting cycle, Miller was highly recruited coming over after he played in EuroLeague and had been with Real Madrid Baloncesto since the age of 12.
He initially chose to play for the Florida State Seminoles where he spent two seasons. While there, he battled suspension, initially for the entire 2022-23 season and later just 16 games after he received $3,000 in third-party money to attend a training camp in 2020. There was criticism of the NCAA for that decision, given that his family paid the money back.
In May 2024, Miller announced his decision to transfer to FAU. There, he played for first year head coach John Jakus. He’d go on to play in and start 34 games for the Owls, averaging 30 minutes per game. For the season, he averaged 11.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, all of which were better than his career average in their respective categories. He also shot 48.6 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from three-point range, and 64.3 percent from the free-throw line.

As a team, FAU went 18-16 overall and 10-8 in AAC play. That was good enough for a tie for fifth in the conference standings. That came on the heels of going to the NCAA Tournament in three straight seasons under Dusty May. That stretch under May included a Final Four and a Sweet Sixteen run.
In the past, Baba Miller has declared for the NBA Draft before withdrawing his name. That happened both in 2023, when he decided to return to Florida State, and in 2024 when he made the move to transfer to FAU. Now, it appears, he’ll once again be on the move in the college ranks. He brings with him plenty of experience and high end talent to his next college team, which will be his third in as many seasons.
