Atlanta Woodward Academy three-star wide receiver Josiah Abdullah has decommitted from Florida, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Monday.

The Peach State pass-catcher was pledged to the Gators since Jan. 14, when he chose them over Michigan, Florida State, and others.

Abdullah is the No. 493 overall prospect and No. 80 wideout in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 51 player in Georgia.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder was back in Gainesville in April and scheduled an official visit with UF for later this month. Last month, he was re-offered by the new staff at Alabama and also added an offer from Indiana. Abdullah told BamaOnLine that he is planning on returning to Tuscaloosa for a visit.

“I went like four times with the old [staff]. Now that they’re settled in and I got the re-offer, I definitely plan on visiting,” Abdullah said. “In the past, it was definitely really high on my list when it comes to making a decision for college… Bama is Bama.”

Gators lose another commitment in 2025

Florida’s 2025 recruiting class now features just four prospects. The Gators entered the day ranked No. 25 in the nation in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, but now rank No. 28 overall and No. 13 in the SEC.

Tallahassee (Fla.) James Rickards four-star defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins remains the top committed prospect in the class, as he checks in at No. 88 overall and No. 7 at his position.

Tampa Plant four-star running back Waltez Clark is the longest-running commit in the fold for Napier and Co. He opted to pledge in September and is just outside the top 250 in the On3 Industry Ranking overall. On May 10, the Gators added a second RB to the mix in the form of Fulshear (Texas) Katy Jordan three-star Chad Gasper.

Gasper became the second commitment for UF last month, following Havana (Fla.) Gadsden County three-star DL Jeramiah McCloud, a former Mississippi State pledge who chose the Gators on May 2.
