Arkansas transfer guard Boogie Fland commits to Florida

Former Arkansas guard Boogie Fland has committed to Florida via the NCAA Transfer Portal per ESPN’s Shams Charania. Fland only played one season at Arkansas.
In his lone campaign with the Razorbacks, he made 21 appearances and 18 starts. The 6-foot-2 standout averaged 13.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 37.9% from the field and 34.0% from beyond the arc.
In Arkansas’ 83-65 loss to Missouri on Jan. 18, Fland suffered a severe hand injury, which sidelined him until the NCAA Tournament. Fland averaged 17.7 minutes per game during Arkansas’ three NCAA Tournament games.
Alas, Fland appeared rusty at times, shooting 4-of-18 from the field during the Big Dance. After the season, Fland declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. But, on May 13, Fland withdrew his name from the draft and announced he’d be returning to college basketball.
Fland was a projected NBA Draft lottery pick before the 2024-25 season began, but his draft stock fell due to his hand injury. Nonetheless, Fland was still the No. 10 overall player and No. 3 point guard in On3’s 2025 Transfer Portal Player Rankings.
Fland played high school basketball at Archbishop Stepinac (NY), where he was a four-star recruit. He was the No. 18 overall player and No. 1 point guard in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the third transfer Florida has added this offseason, joining guards Xaivian Lee and AJ Brown. Florida is revamping its backcourt this offseason after losing Walter Clayton Jr., Will Richard and Alijah Martin to the NBA, and Denzel Aberdeen to Kentucky in the transfer portal.
Florida won the national championship in April, the program’s first national title since 2007. With Fland by his side, Gators head coach Todd Golden will look to build a dynasty in Gainesville.
“As we’ve shown during our time in Gainesville, the University of Florida is an institution that has the resources, support, and people in place to compete and win national championships,” Golden said after agreeing to a six-year, $40.5 million contract extension in May. “… My family and I look forward to our future here at UF and to the continued success of our men’s basketball program.”
